I have been involved with the developing world for the last
two decades and most recently in Papua New Guinea, where I have been assisting
the various bodies and the people in establishing a housing program that
provides houses which are both durable and affordable for the people.
Unfortunately, the aid that the population in western world
believes is being provided to the developing world is not reaching the people
in need due to inflated bureaucratic and inefficient charities in North America
and Western Europe which eat up most of the donations that people give to good
causes in good faith.
The end result is that there is a misunderstanding of what is
actually being done to assist the developing world, versus what is actually
happening. The reality is that the
spread between rich and the poor in the world continues to increase. My purpose in using social media is to create
more awareness of these issues, and I have personal knowledge of various third
world countries and cultures, coupled with my management skills, to work with
landowners, small businesses and farmers in order for them to become
self-sufficient.
